Course Overview
Overview on Baby Resuscitation
This course covers the assessment and resuscitation of a newborn who is not breathing adequately at birth. Students will learn the APGAR scoring system, the initial steps of newborn resuscitation including drying, warming, and airway opening, the technique for bag and mask ventilation, chest compressions, and when to call for help. This is a life-saving skill required by every nurse and midwife working in maternity and neonatal settings.
