Overview of Examination of the Baby
This course covers the systematic physical examination of the newborn from head to toe, carried out at birth and during the neonatal period. Students will learn how to assess each body system including the head, eyes, mouth, chest, abdomen, genitalia, limbs, and spine, how to use the APGAR scoring system, how to take accurate measurements, and how to document and report all findings. This course equips nurses and midwives with the skills to detect abnormalities early.
