Overview of Sitz Bath

This course covers the therapeutic use of the sitz bath in post-operative and gynaecological care. Students will learn the indications for sitz bath therapy, how to correctly prepare the equipment and water temperature, how to assist the patient safely into and out of the bath, the duration of the procedure, and the after-care observations required. This course is relevant to surgical, maternity, and gynaecological nursing.
