Overview on Drug Administration — IM, IV, Suspension and Tablet

This course covers the safe administration of medications by the oral route — including tablets and suspensions — and by the parenteral routes of intramuscular and intravenous injection. Students will learn the Five Rights of medication administration, how to prepare each drug type correctly, the required equipment for each route, and the monitoring and documentation required after administration. This is one of the most fundamental nursing competencies.
